Welcome
Hi, I'm Amber! I've taught barre fitness since 2014 and was a lead instructor for two boutique barre fitness studios before starting BarrePop! in the Spring of 2021 (a gift from God🙏🏾). I believe in teaching with Encouragement, Kindness & a Lil Push :) While I've been in the fitness industry on and off for two decades (I taught traditional group fitness classes at my university rec center, a big box gym, the two boutique barre studios, and a virtual fitness platform before starting BarrePop! ) I've learned the importance of language and how it can affect people. You won't find any shaming body talk here, no insults. Instead, the focus is on strength & encouragement. You'll hear plenty of "Y'all are doing so good!", "Dig a lil deeper", "You are fearfully & wonderfully made" and "You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you."
What is BarrePop!
BarrePop! is a pop-up barre fitness class & community that Gives Back! A portion of the proceeds goes towards providing FREE pop-ups to mamas who've miscarried. We also donate non-perishable food to local food pantries. Learn more in Give Back .
About the Technique
BarrePop! is my own low impact technique that combines traditional barre moves (think pulses & plank holds) with larger range & more dynamic exercises (lunges & squats) to help build strength & break a lil sweat!
Where do you BarrePop!
BarrePop! has been in Washington DC, Culpeper, VA (my hometown), Live Zoom classes & now anywhere through the Virtual Studio! Check out IRL Pop-Ups for updates on upcoming IRL BarrePop!
Who Can BarrePop!
If you are 18+ and can move your body YOU can BarrePop! The community includes people in their early 20s-mid 60s. It doesn't matter if you've taken all the barre classes or this is your first time, you are welcome!
What Should I Bring?
IRL BarrePop! | Yoga Mat (or long towel), Water, Optional Dumbbells (recommend 2lb-5lb) & YOU!
Virtual Studio | Everything from IRL plus a Chair to act as your barre. Optional sliders (I use 2 paper plates) for a few Bonus Pop-Ups.
What Should I Wear?
Wear whatever YOU feel comfortable in! You should be able to move your body freely & comfortably. You have the option of wearing shoes. I go barefoot in the Studio and in IRL (most of the time), but you wear what works best for you!
